A provider of e-commerce technology and solutions has announced its relocation to the Dallas suburb of Texas in a move that could introduce as many as 650 new jobs to the area, according to a press release.
PFSWeb signed a 10-year lease for 95,877 square feet of commercial real estate in Allen, the company announced March 8. The corporation will relocate its headquarters to a facility in Allen Millennium Park that had previously been vacant for around eight years.
The company had considered leasing Dallas office space but chose instead to keep its headquarters outside of city limits while instead relocating its call center from Plano to downtown Dallas' Renaissance Tower.
"Recruiting quality businesses and jobs to Allen is what we do, and this deal is an outstanding example of our mission," said Dan Bowman, of the Allen Economic Development Corporation (AEDC). "Not only does PFSweb plan to invest more than $4 million in its new headquarters, it will also create hundreds of high-wage jobs that bring value to Allen through future sales tax and residential property construction."
PFSWeb said it targeted Allen in part because of its quality workforce, amenable business incentives, and the flexibility of its new space. The neighboring Dallas commercial real estate will include state-of-the-art technology and amenities designed to find a balance between functionality and worker comfort, as the company says it prioritized the health and wellbeing of its employees when considering its future home.
Major Texas metropolises, including Dallas, have been on the radar for many businesses that have considered relocation in recent months. Dallas commercial real estate is often sought for its cost-friendly leasing options and the strength of the local economy.
