Local financial services company moves to River Oaks

by Aron Susman

Some businesses are willing to downsize if the space is more appropriate for their unique needs.

For some Houston business owners, River Oaks office space is so appealing to them that they are willing to reduce the size of their business space in order to acquire a location in that section of the city.

The owners of UHY Advisors recently came to that same conclusion, as they committed to moving from their current location at 12 Greenway Plaza to the America Tower near River Oaks and Montrose. The 2929 Allen Parkway location will provide UHY - a local tax and accounting services company - with 93,000 square-feet of space for its business purposes, which is a step down from its current size.

Despite this downsizing, when the company's lease begins next February, the 400 UHY employees will have access to nearby facilities that are part of the developing American Center campus, including dining locations, conference spaces and many other services. The open design of the workspace will also help promote shared business outcomes.

"Everything you could ever want in a building environment is encompassed in that campus,"  Anthony Squillante, who helped UHY identify the America Tower location, told The Houston Chronicle.

Those familiar with the Houston area know that River Oaks is an ideal location for anyone who requires easy access to the Texas Medical Center and the Highland Village Shopping Center. The residential areas of the neighborhood are known for a number of luxury homes and an abundance of greenery, while the emerging business sector should prove beneficial to companies like UHY.

Whether businesses want space in this area or Meyerland office space in the southwest part of the city, a commercial building search can be expedited by working with a local real estate expert that has access to area property listings.
