Next Big Sound measures daily music consumption and purchase decisions around the globe, and makes it all available in a single dashboard to the music industry.
The highlights of their NYC downtown office space included themed rooms to fit the employees mood, DJ competitions, and a pretty impressive drum set to unleash your creative energy.
I had the pleasure of taking a tour last week and I was delighted to hear Trojans by Atlas Genius playing on the stereo. I instantly felt a sense of calm productivity as the employees worked away (who are extremely diverse, including ex-quants, moneyball statisticians, revered infrastructure engineers, and journalists to former booking agents, tour managers, and music executives) either listening to the main stereo or to their own music with headphones on. I can only imagine the eclectic tastes of 20 people who must all love music.
Their office encompasses the entire 9th floor and they really utilize their space well. The entire floor plan is open and it was really cool to see CEO, Alex White working in the open space with the rest of the employees. Right away, one senses the company still adheres to a startup company ethos even though they have experienced awesome growth over the last couple of years.
