The area of North Dallas is made up of a string of communities and neighborhoods, all situated north of Dallas, Texas. While it’s known for its many expensive, exclusive communities, North Dallas has had its fair share of well-known businesses and corporations set up shop there. One such company, Tenet Health Care relocated its headquarters from California to suburban North Dallas in 2004, only to move again four years later to the Downtown Dallas area. North Dallas is also home to Texas Instruments, one of the world’s top manufacturers of semiconductors, not to mention one of the biggest suppliers of cellular handset chips. While the area’s primary mode of transportation is automobile, residents of North Dallas to have some public transportation options to consider for their commute. North Dallas is flanked on the east by two light rail lines, with plans in place to complete two additional lines that will flank the community on the west. Residents of North Dallas looking to commute by car have no shortage of options, as all of the area’s major north/south highways radiate out from the downtown Dallas freeway loop, cutting into North Dallas at varying angles. North Dallas is intersected by Interstate 35E, the Dallas North Tollway and the North Central Expressway. There are also four different beltways that arc across North Dallas, one of the more major ones being the President George Bush Turnpike. Residents and business travelers flying in and out of the area have a couple of different airport options, including Love Field Airport, one of Southwest Airline’s main hubs, located in North Dallas. Additionally, the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport is only a short distance to the northwest and the Addison Airport can be found adjacent to North Dallas in Addison.
