Alief is bounded by the Sam Houston Tollway and Highway 59, which make it a neighborhood that is easily accessible from most locations in the Greater Houston area. Alief is a part of the Metropolitan Transit Authority, which makes transportation a lot easier within the city. The population of the neighborhood grew almost 45% from 1990 to the very early 2000’s, with Asian Americans making up the bulk of the increase.
