West University Place is mainly a bedroom community for upper-class families. The neighborhood is known as “The Neighborhood City.” It is located within the Houston-Sugar Land-Baytown metropolitan area of Texas. West University is the 5th richest neighborhood within Texas. West University Place is unique in that all of the street names and avenues refer to universities and colleges around the United States. There is also Colonial Park, which has a picnic area, two tennis courts, a sand volleyball court, swimming pool and a pavilion.
